TİSK’S MESSAGE FOR 2008-2012
“WE SHALL TRANSFORM OUR ENTERPRISES
INTO GLOBAL PLAYERS”
Our Confederation, with a key mission to serve Turkey and the Employers’ Community, has reached its’ 45th anniversary.
TİSK with its unique characteristics of having an autonomous structure, being the sole umbrella organization in having the authority to represent Turkish employers both nationally and internationally, bringing employers who are active in various sectors of the economy together in a spirit of sodality and solidarity and within the framework of the principle of a voluntary organization, fully conforms to the European Union’s “social partner” criterion.
Our enterprises are the base from where TİSK derives its’ strength. TİSK has taken on crucial duties in protecting the enterprises against conditions of fierce competitiveness, in increasing Turkish economy’s competitive power and developing growth and employment; as well as being a pioneer for social dialogue, ensuring reconciliation and introducing the concept of producing common solutions for national problems.
TİSK has a mission of outmost importance in accordance with Turkish society’s common goal of full membership to the European Union. Our Confederation, through our membership to the European Business Confederation (BUSINESSEUROPE) for nearly 30 years, defends our national interests regarding the EU at the highest level.
Our Confederation, even in its’ last General Assembly term has had the understanding of continuously developing its’ services provided for Member Employer Associations and affiliated enterprises; adapting social dialogue and reconciliation as a main method to avoid or to resolve disputes in labour life and industrial relations.
Our Country’s becoming one of the leading, developed economies in the 21st century, and making a jump in social development particularly in employment depends on giving our National Development Strategy a new vision focused on technology production relying on exports and transforming our enterprises into global players.
In this framework, macroeconomic policies and labour life legislation will be directed to reforms essential for increasing the competitiveness of our enterprises.
TİSK, as it has until today, will also from now on perform in accordance with the principles upon which our Republic was established. They are the principles and objectives of the Great Leader Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkish Republic.
With our regards,
BÜLENT PİRLER TUĞRUL KUDATGOBİLİK
